Who would of thought that french toast can actually be a healthy breakfast with the right ingredients! I made some food swaps for this recipe to make it healthier. I went from our classic french toast to one that is actually a guilt free breakfast. To make this healthier I used Ezekiel bread, almond milk and added some protein. 


  • 2 slices of Bread of Choice (Preferably Ezekiel)
  • 1 Whole Egg and 2 Egg Whites
  • 1 Tbsp Protein
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/4 Milk
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder (preferably hershey’s)


  • Mix Eggs and egg whites together in a bowl
  • Add the rest of the ingredients except for the bread
  • Dip bread into mixture from both sides
  • Use non-stick cooking spray and pre-heat pan
  • Add bread to pan until cooked about two minutes on each side
  • Add toppings and serve
